Griff street art london
Invaders are literally that — homages to the classic Space Invaders arcade game of the s. To create his street art, Invader uses tiles — usually the two by two centimetre glass ceramic ones of the type that you would tile the bottom of a swimming pool with. Thus, classic Invaders are very small and sometimes quite hard to spot given that they are made up of these mosaic tiles. However, Invader has been known to 'go big' on occasion with larger tiles and there are a few such examples lurking in London — most notably at the Truman Brewery's Ely's Yard, just off Brick Lane.
Invader's work centres around the increasing surveillance in today's urban environments and society as a whole. Invader seeks to countenance this developing trend by installing his own silent sentinels in cities to monitor its population.
Invader doesn't make it easy for us to find him though and always places his Invaders in nooks and crannies, up high and down low — in places that only become obvious once you have discovered them. Invader has visited London on many occasions since his first visit in and overall has left over Invaders in the city.
Many of them are still around today if you know where to look The images that accompany this post should yield some clues as they are all still riding on the street. There's a particularly high concentration around Soho to get you started. For more street art news, sightings and photographs, you can visit Street Art London and check out their Facebook community.

I was first introduced to invaders while living in Paris. Now I look out for them, a few have popped up close to where I live. Great post giving the story behind them. I've seen one, but I didn't realise the story behind them I have seen quite a few in Paris- but only one in London. I will have to keep my eyes peeled and camera ready for more! What fun! The artist is well known for his monsters which may be seen on the streets of Shoreditch. Those of you with eagle eyes may have noticed the multicoloured mushrooms sprouting up around London.
The street artist behind these creations is Christiaan Nagel. Christiaan, originally hails from Durban, South Africa, but is now based in London. Boxi, is a Berlin based stencil artist par excellence. He creates multilayerd, life size stencils which feel almost real. Read the full interview on Street Art London. We also do walking tours around East London and would love to show you all of Stik's work and more from the likes of Banksy, Eine, C etc.
If any of you are interested in going on one of the walking tours, I was thinking of going in April. Las cosas que tiene Londres, I'm not a big fan of street art generally which is probably just as ignorant as saying I'm not a fan of art , but I do love Stik. His little guys are so adorable -- I especially love that last one sleeping. We found one stuck up to his knees in a pond off the Regents Canal, focusing intently on how to get out of his predicament! I like street art. Those are so interesting!
Have a great weekend! Hey I never saw any of thsi stuff while I was in London Wish I could join you on the walk!! I'm a big fan of graffiti, but not all of it is good, some of it is nothing but mindless vandalism! If anybody thinks someone spraying their name all over the place or gang tags is art, they are crazy!
I have to be honest and say I'm not a fan of Stik and the first time I came across one of his pieces I didn't even bother to take my camera out of my pocket. Each to their own I guess. If we all liked the same thing we would be robots! Emm I love this, just had to Stumble it. The art is excellent because of its simplicity, certainly not what I would call graffiti. This is the kind of graffiti I like. I guess it was quite a challenge making some of those creations.
After watching "Exit Through The Gift Shop" and understanding all of the art I've seen through the years finally being put to the names and faces of actual people, I have to agree that this is modern art.
I would love to see Stik people in Boston, because I think it would add to the city in certain locations. They look pretty amazing. I'd love to come across something like this, but around here the graffiti hasn't advance beyond spraying your gang name!
The colors look so vibrant. Will have to grab my camera soon and go look for Stik! Hi Emm, that's a very interesting post. I love the Stik people, they're very cute. I've never seen this style of graffiti before, but I'd agree that it's art.
It's very different from the graffiti that would count as vandalism, to my mind.
